Highway Love (TV Series 2023 ) Episode 3

Highway Love Plot 

 The romantic-comedy series follows two people whose chance
meeting under rather odd circumstances results in their friendship blossoming
into something more. In between that, however, they get into some hilarious
situations that ease their internal conflicts and problems

 

If there is one word you can use to describe Highway Love it’s that the series is absolutely cute with an undertone of tension that threatens to take away the smile from your face… but you can’t really put your finger on it at first. Weirdly enough, Gayatri Bhardwaj and Ritvik Sahore fell in love once previously in Ishq Express, and it’s weird that you are left to wonder how these two characters are constantly pulled into stories wherein they fall in love while travelling.

Either way, just like the 2022 series, Inaaya and Karthik, or Dhun Dhun, are very cute together, and the general atmosphere of the series is mostly light-hearted and fun. Thus, viewers will mostly have a swell time watching this. The storyline is simple, with heavier topics peppered in between. These somewhat heavier moments take more time to come to the forefront, and till then, things seem like they are all sunshine and rainbows.

However, the funniest characters, personally, are Sahil and Meera. They are so over-the-top and funny. Just their sheer insanity is enough to make the scene funnier! His parents are great as well and feel like warm people, although they are not on-screen for too long.

The storyline goes from really cute at first to somewhat annoying after a while – you wish to understand Karthik’s odd behaviour in the face of asking out the girl with whom he spends a few nights at his own house. Thankfully, Inaaya is the manic pixie girl who is really good at reaching out and making things right. However, even her over-enthusiastic self can’t take her out of the trauma that she has experienced previously, which ends up being the central conflict of the series.Listen, with only 4 episodes, the series ebbs and flows with emotions and happiness, but when the series ends after 4 episodes, it feels a bit confusing and ingenuine even. I think it’s because Karthik and Inaaya have some issues in their personal lives that can’t be solved with love, and the series also takes the tried and tested route of making two people on different paths to meet in a weird middle ground that ultimately might not work in their favour.

What I am saying is the series’ need to make the protagonists fall and stay in love feels a bit forced and unnecessary. Do we love a happy ending? Sure. But the happy ending would have been better, at least in my eyes; the characters followed their dreams and then came together eventually. It’s a filmy ending that we get, and the cheesiness makes for a short and sweet watch but is entirely forgettable in the end.
